Kadesh Simms Conroy

Kadesh Simms received her Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Northeastern University, where she was awarded the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Fellowship and graduated magna cum laude, as well as her certification in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from Boston University’s School of Management. Kadesh also earned her Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Human Resources Management and Information Systems at Northeastern University, where she was awarded Human Resource Professional Excellence Award by the New England Human Resources Association as well as a two-time winner of the Dean Roland Latham Oratory Competition.
Kadesh’s international experience began with an internship in Economic Development in China and the former Czech Republic as a M.B.A. student. While living in China, she researched and analyzed private and government-owned companies in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong during China's transition into a market economy. Here she facilitated meetings with leadership to develop innovative Human Resource management strategies and techniques for response to economic shocks. While in living Prague, she also researched and analyzed the effects of the surge of Foreign Direct Investment on human capital in the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland. She also researched and offered management consulting to an American company seeking entrance into the emerging Polish market.
Kadesh’s leadership experience in education began when she earned a leadership position in the school’s chapter of the nation’s first African American sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. After graduation and spending her first years in the workforce serving families and students at Boston Centers for Youth and Family, Boston Public Schools, and Technology Goes Home, before becoming the Director of Learning Communities at Year Up Boston, a year-long higher education and workforce development program serving young adult learners. At Year Up, Kadesh provided organizational leadership and managed the development of learning systems for over 700 higher education students and 60 staff members. Under her tenure, Year Up students secured a record number of annual job placements, college credits, and graduation certificates.
Kadesh’s experience in leadership began with her role as HR Generalist for Novartis Pharmaceuticals (one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world), Explorica (an educational travel company for students), and, most recently, as the national Human Resources Director for the B.E.L.L. (Building Educated Leaders for Life) Foundation. At BELL, Kadesh directed all aspects of human capital, managing an annual hiring caseload of over 1,500 annual part-time positions and redeveloping BELL’s Human Resource Information Systems from the ground up to improve organization, efficiency, and employee engagement across the organization.
Kadesh lives with her husband and her two wonderful sons in Boston, Massachusetts. She is a published author of books and journals, most notably 100 Ways 100 Days, a motivation text designed to train readers for peak performance through positive psychology. Kadesh’s personal philosophy can be best described by her favorite quote, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” Her professional goal is to take her skills in leadership, management, and writing and use them to meaningfully link the field of education and human motivation. She approaches everything with passion and drive, in the hopes that she will meet others who share that same verve for life and desire to positively impact the world.
