Director, Legal Advocacy Program
J Carroll (they/them) joined DOVE’s team in 2018. J oversees DOVE’s Legal Advocacy Program in addition to providing client-centered, trauma-informed representation to survivors of domestic violence in family law and restraining order proceedings. Prior to joining DOVE, J worked at a small firm in Seattle, WA where they represented parents in child welfare proceedings. J also served on the board of the Incarcerated Mothers Advocacy Project where they advocated for incarcerated parents to maintain their fundamental right to parent. J hopes that their work at DOVE can help to transform the broken parts of the legal system that perpetuate oppression. J holds a B.A. in Sociology from Lehigh University and a J.D. from Seattle University School of Law.
